Recipe Help!

Okay, I lost one of my favorite recipes.....it's called Peanut Butter Brownies, and they are a peanut butter flavored brownie with chocolate chips in them.  The only thing I remember for sure is that you melt down a bag of Reeses Peanut Butter chips as the pb ingrediant.

Does ANYONE out there have this recipe?

If I can find it, I'll let you all know.....thanks!

New Furbaby!

Jeff surprised me tonight...I'm going Friday evening to pick up my newest baby!  She's a late Xmas present....and she's just beautiful!  She's a blue brindle American Pit Bull Terrier.  I'm still working on a name for her....but here she is!

Not much of anything......

Just trying to keep up with this Journal......I promised myself I'll try and write more, and try and not bore all of you too much!

On a side note (that will probably get me tons of responses....). ....I've seen all of you guys posting about WoW......just exactly what is that, and how would I investigate it, and get started????

How was everyone's holiday weekend?  Jeff was home from Wed through Sun....after being self employed for 15+ years, it's still weird to even have him home on the weekends, so it was really nice, but really odd to have him home for this long........we're getting along really well these days.  Talking, and spending time with each other.

My latest adventure?  Major couponing......both at the grocery store and other stores like Target and CVS.   Trying to save pennies whereever I can.  I'm finally on a med that is controlling my anxiety and depression, with the super side benefits of losing weight (I literally have no appetite) and decreasing my pain.  Bad news is, my insurance doesn't cover it.  I'm still on samples from the drs.  My usual CVS charges $150 for the meds.  I have to call Walmart and see what they are running.

It's turned colder here.  We've lost most of our fall leaves, and have had flurries a couple of times.

We've also decided that we'll let the house fall off the market on Friday.  We're refinancing, so we'll be able to afford to stay here, even without an income from me.   We're also renting out the basement (in-law suite) again, to help offset the cost of oil.....up to $3.08 a gallon!  Last year at this time we were paying $1.55!!  Yikes!

Still waiting on the outcome of my disability appeal.  Should be hearing something soon........

Okay, I'm off to watch TV - hugs to all!!

Happy Turkey Day!

Hey everyone!

Today is Thanksgiving Day here in the US......and one of the things I am giving thanks for today, is my friends.  Whether you live near or far....whether we are close friends or just growing friends, or new friends....whether we've met 'in person' or just online.....you all have touched my life - and I thank you all for that.

On to other things.....I'm doing a cookie baking mini-marathon today; chocolate chip and peanut butter kiss cookies.  Nope, not peanut blossoms - yuk!  An actual peanut butter cookie recipe that I have from 1929 that is the bomb.
Have to bake my sweet potato casserole yet, make fruit salad, and pack everything up to go to my brother's house for dinner.  Hey Robin!  My sister-in-love Joycey asked about you and Karen, and says hello!

More good news on the Elysa front - we got her financial aid info back, and they are covering all but $400 of her tuition.  We need to cover room, board and books.  And, that's with no scholarships, just the school and Fed aid!  Woo hoo!!  My baby's going to her dream school, Cedar Crest College!  That's a major in nursing and a minor in dance, thanks.  4 year degree.  Nope, I'm not proud in the least, can you tell?

David (my son) is up to spend Turkey Day with us......

It's a good day!

OMG!!!

I just had to rush here and post......

My daughter Elysa was just accepted to Cedar Crest College!  This is the very first college she applied to, and to be honest, I didn't think she would be able to get in!!!  They only accept 225 to 250 students a year, and the current students come from all over the world - we talked to an ambassador's daughter, a senator's daughter.....it seemed very prestigious to me, and I was afraid that Elysa's grades and SAT scores wouldn't be high enough to get her in.....

I'm actually sitting here crying again....I'm so very proud of her!  I was the first female in my mother's line to ever graduate from high school - the only one (until Elysa graduates) to hold a high school diploma - including my mom and my sister (they both got GED's after dropping out.)

I'm just so overwhelmed, and excited for her!  They called her on the phone to tell her she was the second student chosen for admission for the fall 2008 semester, and her letter of confirmation is in the mail.

Go Elysa!!

Just a quick quote.....

I just finished reading "1st To Die" by James Patterson, the first in his series of "The Womens Murder Club."

There's a really great quote in it....

"Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in.  I drink at it, but while I drink, I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is.  Its current slides away, but eternity remains.  I would drink deeper, fish in the sky, whose bottom is pebbly with stars."  --Thoreau

I really like this!
